One year on and still a blessed non-smoker. Stop Smoking Hypnosis, Quit with Bioresonance, Laser.

How I Quit Smoking Overnight After 40 Years!

This story of mine goes back 6 years, when after smoking ordinary packet cigarettes from 1- 2 packets a day (And sometimes more) for the previous 34 years, I decided to give them up and swap to hand rolling my own.

This was rightly or wrongly based on the premise that by getting rid of all the chemicals that were in an ordinary cigarette, then my body would be ok, as I was "told" that nicotine in itself does not kill you, it is all the other crap (Sorry chemicals) that they put in man made cigarettes that does the main damage.

There was none of this in a hand rolled cigarette so I was ok wasn't I!

My rationale did not take into account the amount of actual smoke that was still going into my lungs, and also coking up my whole respiratory system, but I solved that one by being an active twice weekly squash player, so my cardio-vascular would be protected and I would be fit.

What a plonker.

The challenge I had, was that I had tried to give up a couple of times before, and had tried the nicotine patches and the chewing gum when they came out, but ended up having a ciggy while still wearing the patch chewing the gum, so gave up on that idea as they did not work.

They obviously do, but not for me.

The thought of actually using willpower to quit smoking, frightened the life out of me, more so than smoking itself; how many people can relate to that one.

I did try using willpower but failed miserably, like all the other attempts to try and give up, that I had unsuccessfully tried.

Now the word "try" here is very important, because if you "try" to do something you won't do it; if you tried to pick up that pen from your desk, and you picked it up, you did not try, you did it; if you had tried to pick it up, you would not have picked it up at all.

So my attempts to try and quit smoking were a miserable failure, so I gave up trying and carried on smoking my roll ups.

Fast forward to early March 2008, I started to cough up blood which frightened me somewhat, and I ended up in hospital getting thoroughly checked out.

They confirmed that I was ok and the x-ray proved all was clear, miraculously my lungs were also clear, but that it was probably one of my gums that had become weak and started to bleed. (A subsequent visit to my dental hygienist confirmed this, and she also said it was due to smoking)

This episode really scared me, and I realized that the time to Do, and not to Try, was upon me.

During the past year or so on the internet, I had purchased a set of self hypnosis cd's to listen to, and one of them was designed to Help you to Stop Smoking.

I decided to listen to it that evening (March 31st 2008) and from the following day I have not touched or smoked a cigarette.

I cannot now believe that I smoked for all those years, and I can honestly say that I have had little to no cravings or withdrawal symptoms.

The one or two times over the past five months that I thought I would like a cigarette, a little voice inside my head said "Why would you want to do that, you don't smoke" and the thought passes.

Now all the benefits I was told about quitting smoking are coming to fruition, like the fact;


I don't stink of smoke any more.
The colour and tone of my skin has improved my appearance, and friends say I look ten years younger.
No more coughing and wheezing at all.
An important health benefit being that the risk of a heart attack is halved compared to that of being a smoker.
The financial saving is considerable to say the least

Why is it Hard to Quit Smoking?

Smoking is emerging to be one of the major causes of death in the modern world. This is attributed to the growing consumers of tobacco. Tobacco is responsible for the death of 1 in 10 adults all over the world, which translates to around 5 million deaths every year. It is because of this fact that cigarette smoking is now a public health priority.

As we mentioned previously, the boom in cigarette smoking occurred sometime during the First World War. Tobacco companies were successful in including their products as part of the military ration. Does a Quit Smoking Shot Work?

Most smokers doubt the effectiveness and the safety of quit smoking shots. How can this injection stop cravings for cigarettes? Can this procedure address both physical and mental addiction? Quitting smoking not only involves kicking the physical nicotine addiction but also the smoking habit.

Why Stop Smoking - The Upsides of Quitting

As we have seen in part one of this article (Why Stop Smoking - the downsides of smoking), there are a myriad of reasons why you might not want to smoke. However, it is important to recognise the benefits of stopping smoking and how this can have a positive effect on your health status.

Why Stop Smoking Reason #8: It is never too late to stop. Research has shown that after the age of about 35-40, every year of smoking reduces life expectancy by about 3 months on average. If you can quit before then, statistically, you risk little chance of a shortened life expectancy.

Why Stop Smoking Reason #9: People who smoke suffer from regular bursts of hypertension (high blood pressure) as a reaction to smoking. The nicotine triggers an adrenalin rush in the body that constricts arteries, speeds up heart rate and increases blood pressure.

When you stop smoking you stop putting your body through these stress cycles and research has shown that blood circulation around the body improves significantly within about 3 months of quitting.

Why Stop Smoking Reason #10: When you smoke, carbon monoxide in the tobacco smoke is absorbed into the blood stream. This gas locks itself onto the red blood cells, which should only carry oxygen in, and carbon dioxide out of the body. As a result of the carbon monoxide hijacking the red blood cells, the bloods efficiency is reduced by up to 15% in a smoker compared to that of a non-smoker.

Why Stop Smoking Reason #13: Statistics show that people who stop smoking reduce their risks of Cancer. Risk of lung Cancer will be half of that of a smoker after just 10 years off the cigarettes. Risks of other cancers will also reduce rapidly with time.

Why Stop Smoking Reason #14: Smokers run a high risk of heart attack but quitting smoking reduces these risks dramatically. After just 1 year, a smoker who has quit will have halved his or her risk of suffering a fatal heart attack, compared to someone who continues to smoke. After 15 years, there will be no noticeable difference in risk between an ex-smoker and someone who has never smoked.

Quit Smoking Timeline

When you finally quit smoking, your body instantly senses not only the unpleasant effects of quitting but the positive effects as well. Within just a few hours after you have quit, your body starts a healing process that will last for the succeeding years and will ultimately improve your overall health.

The thing is, once you reach the decision to quit your smoking habit, you do not necessarily view the health benefits as concrete concepts, but rather as abstract notions that may occur at whatever point in your distant future. The key is to understand the "quit smoking timeline", which can help you determine and monitor your body's regenerative process. You might be surprised that some of these benefits can occur just hours after you quit smoking.

First Two Hours

Within the first couple of hours after you quit smoking, your blood pressure and heart rate will decrease to normal levels. In addition, your circulation significantly improves, and you might notice a warming sensation in your hands & feet.

After Eight Hours

Carbon monoxide is among the lethal substances contained in cigarette smoke. Thus, smokers have toxic levels of this substance in their blood. In the long term, here are some points to consider: After 5-15 years, you are still as much at risk of getting a stroke as someone who has not smoked in his/her entire life. After 10 years, you have a lesser risk of getting lung Cancer or other types of Cancer (e.g. pancreas, esophagus, bladder, kidneys, throat, mouth, etc.) that usually attack smokers. In 15 years, your risk of experiencing a heart problem (coronary disease or heart attack) is reduced to the level of a nonsmoker.
